Ensemble “LIETUVA” consisting of you, me and all of us together. True, authentic, with a long history of its own as an ensemble, genuine and growing together. The State Ensemble “Lietuva” is the only professional choir, dance and orchestra ensemble in the Baltic States. Today, “Lietuva” is moving in a new creative direction – presenting Lithuania’s identity in a relevant and contemporary way and inspiring pride in our country’s living history. Living history is a relevant story, conveyed in a modern and inspiring way through the performing arts. Bringing historical events to life on stage, reminding us that memories are only alive as long as we ourselves cherish and bear witness to them, is the essence of the ensemble’s work.

In recent years, “Lietuva” has become particularly known for transforming major events and personalities from Lithuanian history into innovative stage productions. The ensemble creates ambitious musical and theatrical projects in collaboration with some of the country’s leading performing arts professionals. These include the musical drama “Emilija”, a videographic concert “Sky Builder”, “650 KM of Freedom”, a commemorative concert marking the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way, the musical drama “The Legend of the Gifted Heart”, the collage opera “Mažvydas”, the theatrical oratorio “13”, the mystery “Gods and Humans”, and many others.

Under the motto “Awaken the Giants”, we invite audiences to look at history from a new perspective – through remarkable historical figures, their role in shaping the country, and the influence their ideas and choices continue to have on us today.

The ensemble brings together more than 60 professional dancers, musicians and choir artists. It is also home to a unique professional orchestra of Lithuanian national instruments. By combining different musical genres with dance, music and theatre, “Lietuva” searches for new ways of interpreting and presenting national music, creating productions that speak to audiences of different generations. Moreover, the ensemble represents Lithuania and presents our country’s cultural heritage – Lithuanian folk performing arts, traditions, music, expressive folk dances and authentic national costumes.

One of the most breathtaking performances – mystery “Gods and Humans“, where traditions of the Baltic States, archaic folk songs, a hum of clairvoyant drumming and modern dance elements intertwine. Moreover, there is a classical music concert with folk instruments “Symphony of Generations” that plays J. S. Bach or W. A. Mozart masterpieces. The most popular and time-tested program is “Best Lithuanian Folk” – a classic ensemble program which contains the most impressive ensemble dances, Lithuanian multipart songs, witty humorous chants and virtuoso instrumental compositions.

Between 2018 and 2025 alone, “Lietuva” presented more than 650 performances for audiences of different ages and backgrounds. We are one of Lithuania’s most active performing arts companies in the regions. Our work is also followed by Lithuanian communities around the world, whose support we deeply value. Beyond its artistic work, “Lietuva” is widely known for its educational initiatives, many of which are created especially for younger generations.

Through its long creative path, the ensemble won numerous international awards and with great success performed in almost all Europe, also in USA, Canada, India, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Cuba and many other countries.
